Job Description
This role is responsible for coordinating and managing the organization’s AI governance program, including AI intake, risk and compliance assessments, approval workflows, lifecycle tracking, and governance documentation. The position partners with Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are deployed responsibly and in alignment with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Serves as the central coordination point for AI intake, assessment, approval, lifecycle management, and stakeholder engagement, including:
- Initiation & Review: guides requestors through proposal submission and questionnaire completion.
- Risk & Council Assessment: coordinates reviews across Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders and prepare materials for Gen AI Council decision-making.
- Lifecycle tracking: tracks ongoing progress on GenAI efforts and keeps Gen AI catalog up to date.
- Develops, maintains and socializes AI governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Active participant in AI Champions program’s activities including but not limited to outreach, documentation and training related activities across the organization including business teams.
- Partners with Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Legal, Enterprise Architecture, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are deployed responsibly, and in alignment with organizational strategy and risk tolerance.
- Develops and maintains AI documentation that defines AI usage policies, current approved AI technologies and AI training resources.
- Partners with AI Platforms’ and Tools’ administrators to implement the guardrails to enforce organization’s standards and best practices.
- Develops and maintains dashboards and reports on AI usage, adoption and cost related metrics.
- Continuously evaluates and enhances AI governance processes, workflows, and controls to improve efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts, capabilities, risks, and common enterprise use cases.
- Experience applying continuous improvement principles to develop, document, and optimize processes across crossfunctional teams and organizational boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams through collaboration and consensus-building without formal authority.
- Familiarity with AI control and governance frameworks.
- Experience with data governance practices, including data ownership, data classification, and data quality.
- Experience supporting enterprise AI governance programs, AI intake workflows, or governance council operations.
- Familiarity with responsible AI principles, AI risk management practices, and emerging AI regulatory expectations.
- Experience developing governance documentation, training materials, dashboards, or leadership reporting.
- Ability to translate technical, legal, risk, and business requirements into practical governance processes and controls.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders such as Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Legal, Enterprise
- Architecture, Procurement, Finance, and business teams.
- Knowledge of AI vendor review, third-party risk management, or technology procurement processes.
