Job Description:
Assures that the appropriate due diligence is performed in the evaluation and execution of contracts associated with the procurement of goods and services. This position is responsible for coordinating and leveraging contracting opportunities on an enterprise basis in order to achieve standardization and economies of scale to the extent possible. In collaboration with the Corporate Legal Department, the Contract Sourcing Specialist will insure that language is reviewed and reflects terminology that is in the organization’s best interests. In collaboration with Department Managers and end users, this position will negotiate in good faith in order to reduce cost to the customer wherever possible. This position is also responsible for developing an organized approach to reducing the overall cost of the organization’s value proposition.
Essential Functions:
- Segment, unpack and rationalize the external spend across the enterprise:
- Conduct historical spend data analysis.
- Identify and aggregate our categories of spend to determine our leverage opportunities.
- Present findings to Administrative Director and obtain support to drive projects that align to the organization’s strategies.
- Conduct due diligence to:
- Gain insight into our internal demand.
- Identify, analyze and evaluate our supply chain.
- Identify key stakeholders.
- Develop a more formalized supplier management program for our primary suppliers.
- Quantify the total costs for the key services that we purchase.
- Focus on strategic cost reduction to formulate and implement actionable projects that will create value.
- Manages the contracting function as it relates to the procurement of goods and services.
- Responsible for working in a collaborative fashion with Corporate Legal in order to insure that contract language is in the best interest of the organization.
- Responsible for collaborating with end users to insure that quality and patient care issues are at the forefront of all contract activities.
- Facilitates toe coordination of multidisciplinary discussions to ensure that IT, Facilities and all other appropriate areas are involved and have the opportunity to provide input to contract language where appropriate.
- Uses Lean and / or Continuous Improvement philosophies to guide activities.
- Conducts business with consideration to Premier, our Group Purchasing Organization.
- Works with the Materials Management staff to insure that contracting needs in all commodity areas are met, and participates on Value Analysis Teams and other committees as required or assigned.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree
Work Experience:
- More than 3 years of experience, but less than 5 years of experience is preferred

- Clinical Roles: Securely using electronic health records (EHR), connected medical devices, and mobile technologies in compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
- Information Systems Roles: Must have experience with network security, incident response, and compliance frameworks (e.g. NIST).
