Job Description
  • The client is seeking an experienced Epic Ambulatory Analyst to provide immediate support for an ongoing Epic optimization initiative.
  • The organization is focused on maximizing its existing Epic investment, improving workflows, and ensuring key Epic initiatives remain on track.
  • This consultant will work closely with internal Epic/application teams and operational stakeholders to evaluate current workflows, identify opportunities for optimization, and support the implementation of enhancements across the ambulatory environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Epic Ambulatory experience and be comfortable stepping into an established environment, quickly understanding current priorities, and contributing immediately.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on support for Epic Ambulatory applications and workflows.
  • Analyze current ambulatory workflows, system functionality, and business requirements to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with ambulatory operations, clinical stakeholders, and internal IT/application teams to understand business needs and translate them into Epic solutions.
  • Support Epic optimization, enhancement, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, workflow analysis, system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate existing Epic functionality and recommend opportunities to better leverage the organization's current Epic investment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on initiatives involving patient access, scheduling, clinical workflows, and related Epic applications.
  • Assist with prioritizing and executing Epic enhancements based on operational needs and project objectives.
  • Work alongside internal resources and external partners as needed to keep initiatives moving forward.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal team members.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted resource for Epic Ambulatory-related questions and optimization opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting Epic Ambulatory.
  • Experience as an Epic Analyst, Application Analyst, Consultant, or similar role.
  • Experience supporting Epic implementations, optimizations, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of ambulatory clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into effective Epic solutions.
  • Experience working directly with clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment.
  • Healthcare IT experience within a hospital or health system environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Epic Ambulatory certification.
  • Experience with additional Epic applications such as Prelude, Cadence, or related patient access workflows.
  • Experience supporting Epic optimization or modernization initiatives.
  • Experience working with pediatric healthcare organizations is a plus.
  • Previous Epic consulting or contract experience preferred.
