Job Description
- An Epic Conversion Analyst is a healthcare IT professional who specializes in migrating data from legacy electronic health record (EHR) systems into the Epic EHR platform.
- The role ensures that clinical and administrative data is accurately mapped, transformed, and loaded into Epic, maintaining integrity and usability for end users
- Data Migration & Conversion: Translate business requirements into functional specifications; map legacy data elements to Epic’s data structures; develop and execute data conversion scripts and programs
- Data Validation & Testing: Validate data extracts, troubleshoot inconsistencies, and resolve errors during the conversion process to minimize disruption to patient care
- Collaboration: Partner with technical teams, application analysts, clinicians, and stakeholders to align data requirements with Epic’s capabilities
- Process Documentation: Document conversion procedures, best practices, and lessons learned for future reference
- Training & Support: Provide guidance to clients or internal teams on data conversion processes and Epic system use
- Compliance & Security: Adhere to healthcare data handling regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
