Job Description:
The organization is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Disability Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating foster care case files, both medical and non-medical evidence, to determine potential eligibility for SSI childhood disability according to federal SSA regulations. Candidates for this position should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze case files containing financial information, medical and school records, and other pertinent information to assess the severity and impact of diagnosed impairments.
- Conduct interviews with caregivers to obtain necessary information regarding the functional impact of the child’s disabilities/impairments.
- Assemble necessary medical/educational documentation and complete forms to submit to SSA to support SSI childhood disability application.
- Maintain accurate records of actions taken regarding application and ensure compliance with specified confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex medical information and follow governmental regulations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to present information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for document and data management.
- Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and stakeholder meetings to stay informed on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide professional customer services to case workers, stakeholders, and other individuals, ensuring their questions and concerns are addressed with empathy and professionalism.
