Job Description
  • We are seeking an Expert Intersystems Platform Administrator to ensure the stability, performance, and continuous availability of our Tier 1 Intersystems platforms, including Ensemble, HealthShare (HIE), and IRIS. These platforms support mission-critical clinical and business operations, including enterprise integrations and the ongoing Epic conversion.
  • This senior-level role is responsible for high availability, data integrity, performance optimization, and operational support across a large, complex infrastructure of 130+ servers.
  • The position plays a key role in platform modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, operating system migrations, and enterprise system integrations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in senior-level 24/7 on-call support rotation for Ensemble and HIE environments
  • Manage, monitor, and support Intersystems infrastructure across 130+ servers
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, system health checks, and capacity planning
  • Resolve hardware, software, OS, and application issues across Cache, HealthShare, and IRIS platforms
  • Oversee full lifecycle management across development, integration, QA, staging, and production environments
  • Design, develop, and maintain ObjectScript-based automation, including ad hoc installer scripts and operational utilities
  • Develop and maintain ZAUTHENTICATE routines to support secure authentication workflows
  • Design, implement, and maintain role creation and security administration scripts, including Active Directory–integrated security roles
  • Proactively monitor system alerts, reports, and platform performance metrics
  • Manage and maintain multi-terabyte Cache and IRIS databases
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and support Intersystems software components
  • Lead and support migrations from AIX-based Ensemble to Linux-based IRIS environments
  • Develop and maintain technical, operational, and procedural documentation
  • Initiate and manage vendor support cases with Intersystems WRC
  • Support activations, rollouts, go-live events, and environment testing
  • Provide platform support for cloud-hosted solutions in GCP and Azure
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies and project meetings, providing status updates and risk escalation
  • Promote team knowledge sharing, mentoring, and continuous learning
  • Maintain clear, customer-focused communication aligned with business and clinical objectives
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Intersystems Cache, HealthShare, and IRIS system administration experience
  • 3+ years supporting mission-critical application environments with HA/DR architectures
  • Strong proficiency in ObjectScript, including operational automation and installer scripting
  • Hands-on experience developing ZAUTHENTICATE routines
  • Expertise in Cache/IRIS security administration, including role creation and access control scripting
  • Strong experience with change management and version control practices
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer-focused support skills
  • Solid understanding of risk avoidance, fault tolerance, and mitigation strategies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting healthcare integration platforms and HIE environments
  • Experience with large-scale server environments and enterprise migrations
  • Familiarity with Epic integration environments
  • Experience supporting cloud or hybrid infrastructure models
