Job Summary
A large academic cancer center is looking for an Instructional Designer to join its digital training team, supporting technology adoption across the organization. This hybrid contract role focuses on designing, developing, and delivering learning content for major system rollouts — including an ERP launch and post-go-live support, a ServiceNow implementation, and other enterprise technology initiatives, alongside a broader push on AI literacy and adoption. You'll partner closely with subject matter experts to translate new system functionality into clear, user-centered training, and play a direct role in preparing staff to adopt new workflows across virtual instructor-led sessions, onsite training, e-learning, video, and other formats.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop instructional materials — guides, job aids, presentations, videos, e-learning modules, and other digital content — for major technology rollouts
- Translate performance gaps and business needs into learning requirements and measurable learning objectives
- Select instructional strategies suited to specialized and diverse audiences
- Facilitate live training sessions and provide hands-on learner support during go-live and post-go-live periods
- Partner with subject matter experts and project teams to prepare stakeholders for new workflows and reinforce key messages in training materials
- Conduct quality assurance on training content, establish templates and governance standards, and maintain the team's library of learning materials
- Upload and maintain training materials in shared repositories and the learning management system
Qualifications
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
- Experience with content authoring and media tools such as Articulate Storyline, Captivate, SnagIt, Camtasia, Photoshop, or Adobe Premiere
- Ability to apply adult learning theory and instructional design techniques to interactive eLearning and blended learning solutions
- Ability to incorporate multiple media elements — audio, video, animation, simulation, graphics — into learning programs
- Strong collaboration skills across functional areas and levels of an organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and activities simultaneously
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, Organizational Development, or Psychology
Preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, or a consulting environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
