Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Intranet Content Specialist will use their passion for online communications and engagement to support the continued development of our enterprise social intranet, and social engagement community.  They will be part of the Employee Engagement team, reporting to the Associate Director, Intranet Strategy. The Intranet Content Specialist will provide design, implementation, and ongoing training and support by creating, editing, and maintaining individual web pages and sites. They will work on campaigns and initiatives hosted on the intranet and social engagement community, where they may be responsible for coordinating assets, developing content, implementing timelines, tracking key metrics, and reporting on progress, problems, and solutions.


Job Responsibilities:
Content Management/ Web Support:
  • Develop and design web pages for our SharePoint Online Intranet platform.
  • Create wireframes and help users build out their intranet presence.
  • Design graphics for use on intranet pages, News, and social engagement community posts.
  • Help Community and department sites as needed, adding content, managing document libraries, editing and organizing information to be clear and accessible.
  • Collaborate with DigITs team to resolve/prevent technological issues as well as plan for/integrate new functional updates.
  • Monitor and respond to all inquiries via email
Community and Social Engagement:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of innovative approaches to grow and engage communities across intranet and social engagement community.
  • Regularly moderate activity and metrics for intranet and social engagement community, reporting on assigned campaigns, initiatives, and general trends.
  • Post, monitor, and track metrics for original social engagement community content campaigns for the Employee Engagement team and the intranet user account.
  • Oversee the intranet Site Editors community on the social engagement community, maintaining a distribution calendar, developing and posting a regular cadence of helpful content, and interacting with community members.
  • Encourage and support the use of intranet and social engagement community, e.g., participate in conversations in the social engagement community, share success stories, generate enthusiasm for intranet among employees.
  • Stay informed about social media developments, emerging technologies, communications best practices and trends in the social media field.
Project Coordination:
  • Assist leadership with organizational, creative, and/or managerial support necessary for long-term and ad-hoc projects, campaigns, and initiatives; communicate effectively and work directly with the key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ensure that information is shared among stakeholders and that issues are escalated when appropriate.
  • Manage and coordinate meetings among key stakeholders.
  • Training
  • Promote intranet by helping to develop and deliver various training programs, tutorial videos, usage guides, etc.
  • Maintain the intranet Help & Feedback site and refine training materials posted there to stay current.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • The role requires experience with SharePoint Online, or an equivalent intranet or website content management system.
  • The Intranet Content Specialist must be tech savvy and confident in tackling and learning tech platforms, experience with web analytics, and skilled at presenting complex information in a creative, engaging way.
  • The Intranet Content Specialist will be able to act as a proxy when the Intranet Manager is unavailable and will be comfortable interacting with various community managers across the organization.
  • Design ability and website development experience is necessary.
  • Knowledge or experience with web design and web development
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrable understanding of social networking best practices
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data
  • Basic user interface and HTML knowledge
  • Design experience
  • Experience / demonstrable interest in employee engagement, social media, and online marketing campaign development
  • Positive attitude, detail- and customer-oriented, with good multitasking and organizational ability
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Video development, social media, and customer service experience.
