Job Description
The Digital Core Application Team organization leads the evolving development of core applications such as Order Management Systems, ERP, Merchandise Financial Planning, Markdown Planning, Payment Gateway, and brick and mortar Retail Systems. The Digital Core Application Team has a requirement for a Product Owner to augment the team and to help drive projects in an agile methodology framework.
Product Owner
- This Product Owner position is on the Digital Core Application team which supports both eCommerce websites and brick and mortar systems.
- This Product Owner will support a SAFe agile team through the entire software development life cycle (SDLC) to deliver features and enhancements to our core applications such as: Order Management System, ERP, Merchandise Financial Planning, Markdown Planning, Payment Gateway and brick and mortar retail systems.
- Responsibilities of this role include prioritizing the scrum team’s backlog, managing stakeholder expectations, working with the team to prepare and present the sprint review & demo, prepare user stories, document “as-is” and “will-be” state, leading sprint planning, actively participate in all scrum ceremonies, prepare for production releases, and work across teams as needed.
- This person will enable optimal team performance by ensuring that the team continuously has a backlog of well-defined and estimated user stories. The Product Owner leads sprint planning to ensure the team commitments are achievable, the business requirements are met, and the team is performing optimally.
- 5-8 years as a Product Owner within dedicated agile teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, tailoring to audiences
- Excellent critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to proactively manage stakeholder expectations.
- Proven success as a self-starter demonstrated in a highly collaborative, matrix environment
- Strong working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban
- Relevant undergraduate BA, BS degree in IT or Business or equivalent experience
- Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence
Responsibilities
- Participate in agile team ceremonies using SAFe Framework
- Partner with Product Management team and business team to ensure business requirements are met
- Refine and guide the product backlog for the scrum team, involving stakeholders in the refinement and impediment resolution
- Develop and document user stories in JIRA
