Job Description
The Delivery Lead, Global Data Projects, plays a critical role in driving the successful execution of key workstreams within a multiyear migration from legacy data platforms to a modern Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks–based ecosystem. Operating within a large, complex global retail environment, this role ensures that assigned workstreams are delivered with clarity, discipline, and alignment to enterprise transformation goals.

This leader brings strong delivery expertise, an understanding of modern data platforms, and the ability to coordinate across global teams, business functions, and technical domains to ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes. This position is part of the Global Data Platform Program and reports to the Program Lead.

Key Responsibilities
Workstream Leadership & Execution
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned workstreams within a multiyear enterprise data platform migration.
  • Translate program-level objectives into actionable delivery plans, milestones, and dependencies for each workstream.
  • Ensure workstream activities align with the overarching migration strategy, established architecture standards, and business priorities.
  • Drive day to day execution, ensuring teams remain focused, unblocked, and aligned across global time zones.
Delivery Oversight
  • Provide delivery leadership for initiatives leveraging Azure Data Services, Snowflake, and Databricks by ensuring teams follow established delivery processes that reinforce technical standards owned by engineering and architecture leaders.
  • Oversee the execution of migration activities—including data pipelines, data models, integrations, and consumption layers (e.g., Power BI)—to ensure workstreams follow defined procedures, maintain clarity, and progress predictably.
  • Identify and escalate gaps in delivery processes or missing standards when they impact execution.
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, and platform teams to ensure delivery plans support technical feasibility, quality expectations, and alignment with enterprise patterns—without owning technical decision making.
  • Work closely with data governance and data quality teams to ensure delivery processes incorporate required governance checkpoints, metadata expectations, and compliance steps, enabling consistent application of enterprise data policies across workstreams.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with global teams across the organization to ensure business readiness and alignment.
  • Coordinate with program leadership, other workstream leads, and technical teams to manage dependencies and sequencing.
  • Facilitate cross-team working sessions and decision making forums to maintain momentum and clarity.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for workstream-level updates, risks, and decisions.
  • Provide clear, concise communication to senior stakeholders and program leadership.
  • Translate delivery progress into business-relevant narratives that support transparency and alignment.
  • Build strong relationships across regions to ensure adoption and engagement throughout the migration.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure workstream activities adhere to enterprise data governance, privacy, and security requirements.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and blockers that could impact delivery timelines or quality.
  • Maintain documentation, traceability, and compliance artifacts required for audit and regulatory needs.
Delivery Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Apply and refine delivery methodologies (Agile, hybrid, scaled Agile) appropriate for large-scale data transformation programs.
  • Track delivery metrics and milestones to ensure predictability and transparency.
  • Drive continuous improvement across workstream processes, communication, and collaboration.
  • Support change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new data capabilities across the business.
Required Qualifications
  • 8–12+ years of experience leading delivery of data or technology initiatives in large, complex, global organizations.
  • Proven experience building and driving a plan to on-time completion with the ability to determine which methodologies, tools, and level of detail are necessary given the work, team, importance of deliverable, etc.
  • Proven experience delivering data engineering, data platform, or analytics workstreams using platforms like Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of data migration strategies and enterprise data architectures.
  • Experience coordinating multiregion teams and navigating matrixed organizational structures.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with enterprise delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence, ServiceNow).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in global retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods industries.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or Scrum Master.
  • Experience with large-scale data migrations, modernization programs, or cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with data mesh, federated governance, or modern data product operating models.

Key Competencies
  • Ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity.
  • Strong influencing skills across technical and business domains.
  • High cultural awareness and ability to work effectively across global time zones.
  • Structured problem solving and decision making.
  • Resilience and adaptability in fast-changing environments.
