Job Description
- The Project Manager – Identity & Access Management (IAM) is responsible for leading complex, cross functional IAM initiatives within GTIS, with a strong emphasis on identity modernization, Okta platform delivery, and vendor led execution.
- This role operates in environments where requirements may be evolving, dependencies span multiple teams and vendors, and delivery success depends on strong governance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
- The Project Manager is accountable for driving clarity, maintaining momentum, and ensuring transparent, disciplined delivery across internal teams and third party partners.
Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead end to end delivery of IAM initiatives, including identity platform modernization and access management transformations.
- Structure and manage work in ambiguous or evolving environments, translating high level objectives into clear workstreams, milestones, and delivery plans.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, tracking scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, and issues.
- Drive progress and execution even when requirements, sequencing, or readiness activities are not fully finalized.
- Manage project delivery for Okta Identity and Access Management implementations and enhancements.
- Partner with IAM architects, security teams, application owners, and business stakeholders to coordinate technology, governance, and readiness activities.
- Support IAM transformation efforts impacting authentication, MFA experiences, access requests, approvals, and access reviews.
- Serve as the primary PM to PM liaison for third party vendors.
- Coordinate task management and delivery alignment across vendor resources and internal GTIS teams.
- Hold vendors accountable to agreed milestones, deliverables, and escalation processes.
- Governance, Risk & Dependency Management
- Identify delivery risks and cross team dependencies early, with a focus on IAM adoption, readiness, and operational impacts.
- Establish and maintain delivery governance, including status reporting, escalation paths, and decision forums.
- Ensure timely and transparent escalation of issues that may impact delivery outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non technical stakeholders, including security leadership, application owners, and business partners.
- Prepare clear, executive ready project status updates outlining delivery health, accomplishments, upcoming milestones, risks, and required decisions.
- Drive clarity around ownership and accountability in a matrixed delivery environment.
- 4–6 years of project management experience supporting Identity & Access Management initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience delivering IAM transformation or modernization programs in enterprise environments.
- Hands on project management experience with Okta Identity and Access Management.
- Proven experience managing third party vendors, including PM to PM coordination of tasks and dependencies.
- Strong ability to manage ambiguity, identify risks and dependencies early, and drive execution without complete information.
- Experience implementing Okta Identity Governance capabilities (e.g., access requests, approvals, certifications).
- Local to Tempe, AZ, with the ability to be on site twice per week.
- Experience supporting security, identity, or compliance driven technology initiatives.
