Job Description:

As part of this growing sales organization, we are seeking a highly skilled Proposal & Technical Writing Contractor (20hrs per week) to support deal capture, revenue growth, and customer engagement initiatives.

This role is uniquely split:
  • 50% Proposal Development – Supporting RFP/RFI responses, sales proposals, and customer-facing documentation
  • 50% Technical Writing – Developing clear, structured, and accurate technical documentation for internal and external audiences

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced sales environments, understands enterprise software, and can translate complex technical concepts into compelling, customer-focused messaging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working closely with our Senior Sales Proposal Manager, Sales Enablement Team, Public Sector Sales Leadership, and Solution Engineering

Proposal Development (50%):
  • Lead and support responses to Public Sector and Government RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Pre-Sales Engineers, Product, Legal, and Leadership to gather inputs.
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear business value propositions
  • Develop executive summaries, solution overviews, and tailored customer messaging.
  • Working with existing Proposal personnel, maintain proposals inventory and content library.
  • Ensure submissions are compliant and delivered on deadline.
  • Improve proposal templates, formatting standards, and response workflows.

Technical Writing – Sales & Customer Collateral (50%):
  • Develop and maintain high-quality technical content to support sales and customer understanding, including:
    • Product-focused white papers that articulate technical capabilities and differentiation
    • Case studies and use cases highlighting real-world applications and outcomes
    • Customer-facing solution briefs that clearly explain technical value propositions
    • Knowledge base articles and technical documentation to support customer education and adoption
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to ensure accuracy.
  • Convert complex technical information into user-friendly documentation.
  • Contribute to internal documentation for Sales enablement and onboarding.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 5+ years of experience in proposal writing, technical writing, or similar roles.
  • Proven success responding to RFPs in complex B2B environments.
  • Strong ability to synthesize technical information into clear, structured, and easy-to-understand written content for a range of audiences.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
    • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to organize ideas into a logical, compelling narrative.
  • Strong project management and deadline management capabilities.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Engineering.
    • Ability to synthesize input from multiple sources and subject matter experts into a cohesive and consistent document.

Preferred:
  • Background in enterprise software, data platforms, healthcare IT, or infrastructure technology.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g. SalesForce, Hubspot, PEGA, etc) and proposal tools (QorusDocs, et
  • Understanding of compliance and security questionnaires (SOC2, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Experience with Government and Federal Proposals, RFP’s, RFI’s, and RFQ’s.
