Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare IT Project Manager / Business Analyst to lead technology projects from initial intake through implementation.
- This role will manage project scope, timelines, stakeholders, risks, and deliverables while also providing hands-on Business Analysis expertise.
- The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare and clinical systems experience and be comfortable working directly with clinical and business stakeholders to understand needs, document requirements, improve workflows, and translate business objectives into effective technology solutions.
- Lead healthcare IT projects from intake and requirements through implementation and go-live.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Partner with clinical, business, and IT stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, project meetings, and stakeholder discussions.
- Document business and functional requirements, workflows, current/future-state processes, and project decisions.
- Analyze clinical and business workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams.
- Coordinate with developers, application teams, vendors, and other IT resources throughout project execution.
- Support testing, including test scripts, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and resolution.
- Establish repeatable processes and templates for project intake, requirements, and documentation.
- Proactively identify project risks and roadblocks and recommend solutions.
- Support implementation, go-live, and post-implementation activities.
- 7+ years of experience in IT Project Management, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading healthcare IT projects from initiation through implementation.
- Strong Business Analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, workflow analysis, gap analysis, and UAT.
- Experience working with clinical and healthcare business stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and healthcare technology environments.
- Excellent project management, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex business and clinical needs into clear technical requirements.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or other healthcare applications.
- Experience in revenue cycle, clinical applications, patient access, billing, or other healthcare IT functions.
- PMP, CBAP, or similar certification.
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project.
- Technical understanding of databases, SQL, system integrations, or interfaces.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
