Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of IT and Content Resources, the assistant will support the marketing, branding, and publication activities. Serves as the first point of contact to assist in all communications-related efforts. Works collaboratively with multiple internal teams, management, and leadership in a complex and fast-paced environment. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of full breadth of services and resources to deliver relevant and targeted information about the client to diverse populations including students, employers, alumni, and other stakeholders.
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Works with supervisor and relevant unit heads to execute marketing campaigns for office events and initiatives. Provides updates and smooth flow of information between multiple internal units as needed.
- Drafts and edits content for weekly and ad hoc email newsletters, web, print materials, and social media (YouTube, Instagram, etc.).
- Prepares and maintains consistent and up-to-date information across all internal and outgoing communications, including event calendars, Crimson Careers, social media, print materials, web content, posters, and other signage as needed.
- Designs, edits, and catalogs graphics and video content in Canva using templates and style guides.
- Designs and edits content for department website. The website is powered by uConnect, a vendor providing a management platform for content edits.
- Uses project management tools (Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Lists, Excel, etc.) to communicate among team members.
- Monitors and shares usage data and analysis for all communications platforms. Assists with design and production of statistical reports and other basic infographics.
- Participates in communications-related training and communities. Stays informed of best practices and peer institutions.
- Attends weekly and biweekly logistic and marketing meetings.
- May collaborate with student assistants and other office staff.
- Participates in a range of office-wide events including open houses, professional development workshops, intra- and inter-department, and college-wide meetings.
- Performs other administrative support tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Three years of office work experience.
- Minimum of one year of editing, writing, and design experience required.
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working on marketing and branding campaigns.
- Excellent proofreading, editing, writing, and design skills.
- Competency using Microsoft Office and social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube). Basic HTML skills and understanding is a plus.
- Familiarity with email marketing tools preferred.
- Demonstrated design competency, with experience in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), and content management systems.
- Experience handling DSLR cameras for photography and videography.
- Strong organizational skills including ability to plan, prioritize, and manage workflow and multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently but also willing to take direction and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
