Job Description:
Position is responsible for maintaining System Accounting activities including: general ledger month-end close, complex account analysis, and reconciliations, including sub-system reconciliations. Recommends changes in accounting systems and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of accounting work experience
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and financial accounting knowledge
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and upload journal entries to the general ledger, including the consolidation of business units and corresponding eliminating entries, to prepare system financials.
  • Ensures the accuracy of the recorded transactions.
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts with various monthly statements (bank statements, sub-system ledgers), makes adjustments as necessary, and reports material variances to management.
  • Prepares schedules for financial reporting to internal and external sources, to include auditor requests.
  • Compiles financial data to aid higher level accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
  • Collects financial data and analyzes expenses, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
  • Prepares financial reports that aid management in determining the proper accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
  • Ensures compliance with accounting and reporting deadlines.
  • Assists with moderately complex accounting projects as assigned by management.
  • Documents, identifies, and provides recommendations for process improvements and controls.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization.
  • Serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.
