Job Description:
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Application Analyst to support the build and optimization of Epic Compass Rose, Epic’s specialty pharmacy workflow management module. This role will configure and enhance workflows that support high-touch specialty medication management, including patient onboarding, prior authorizations, and medication adherence.

The analyst will collaborate with pharmacy operations, clinical teams, and IT to streamline workflows, improve patient outcomes, and ensure regulatory compliance. Experience with Epic Healthy Planet is highly valued to support care management and population health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Compass Rose Build & Workflow Optimization:
  • Design and configure Compass Rose workflows supporting referrals, benefits investigation, prior authorizations, fulfillment, and patient onboarding.
  • Build task-driven workflows to support patient outreach, medication adherence, and pharmacist interventions.
  • Optimize specialty pharmacy operations through system-driven task queues and workflow automation.

Task Management & Productivity Tracking:
  • Implement and manage task queues for patient follow-up and care coordination.
  • Configure tools to track staff productivity and document pharmacist interventions.
  • Support reporting and performance tracking for specialty pharmacy operations.

System Integration & Collaboration:
  • Align Compass Rose workflows with Epic Pharmacy and care management processes.
  • Integrates Compass Rose with Epic Healthy Planet to support patient engagement and population health initiatives.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and clinical teams to ensure workflows meet operational needs.

Documentation, Compliance & Patient Safety:
  • Ensure workflows support regulatory compliance and accreditation standards.
  • Improve documentation quality and track clinical outcomes.
  • Support patient safety initiatives and medication adherence programs.

Testing, Training & Support:
  • Develop test scripts and support system testing and validation.
  • Assist with go-live planning, end-user training, and post-implementation support.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and optimize workflows post-launch.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Information Systems, Pharmacy, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience supporting or building within Epic applications.
  • Understanding of specialty pharmacy workflows and medication management processes.
  • Experience with system configuration, testing, and workflow design.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Epic Compass Rose certification or hands-on build experience.
  • Experience with Epic Healthy Planet, Willow Pharmacy, or Ambulatory Epic modules.
  • Experience working in specialty pharmacy, academic medical centers, or health systems.
  • Knowledge of prior authorizations, patient assistance programs, and medication adherence initiatives.
