Job Description:
Consultant will perform a variety of skilled and general maintenance to building equipment and campus grounds and assist in physical security support activities, as well as provide on call rotating support for both Holyoke and Windsor facilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance activities such as changing lights and ballasts; installing lighting fixtures; fire system, painting, repairing, moving office equipment and furniture; checking and maintaining circuit breakers; replacing floor covering; repairing or replacing washroom fixtures; etc.
- Assist in the removal of snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, etc. as assigned Perform installations, removal, testing and maintenance of heating, air conditioning, lighting, communications, and plumbing systems involving but not limited to such components as fans, motors, compressors, pumps, fixtures, and wiring
- Read and interpret blueprints of building facilities and systems
- Conduct scheduled inspections and determine work required for routine upkeep of buildings, equipment, and fixtures
- Check elevators for proper operation; arrange for service as necessary
- Perform tests and make adjustments as necessary for the proper operation of building equipment; perform weekly test of emergency generating equipment
- Retrieve/inspect mail and packages from drop off/pick up shed; Deliver supplies and other packages to departments
- Perform badging and other security monitoring activities as needed
- Assists in troubleshooting and performing electrical and mechanical work for security devices including but not limited to cameras, badge readers, door strikes and rex devices
Minimum Requirements / Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 – 4 years’ experience in building/facilities maintenance, minor plumbing and electrical and HVAC support
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing License or certifications a plus
