Our client is seeking resources to perform SharePoint design and development duties for their intranet website.
The intranet website is instrumental in helping the staff do their work. It contains operational information in such areas as human resources, finance, facilities, technology, and communications. It is also a portal to many business applications used daily.
The work under this engagement consists of moving the intranet site from the current CMS (Liferay) to SharePoint. The resources will evaluate the current information architecture to determine how it could be built as a SharePoint Communication site; suggest changes in content organization, structure, and navigation as needed; create a graphic design that combines the needs and desires of the intranet owners as well as the capabilities of SharePoint templates; create SharePoint templates as well as a permission scheme; build the SharePoint site using the new templates and design; and populate the site with existing content as applicable.
The work order may be amended/extended in the future to include additional duties/cost pertaining to the implementation of the new intranet site.
Work will be performed off-site/remotely. The vendor’s resources must be located within the borders of the United States and be available for meetings during regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.
Sample Tasks:
- Analyze existing content and provide recommendations for enhancements to information architecture, organization, and navigation as pertains to a move to SharePoint.
- Gather requirements for a move to SharePoint through meetings with multiple stakeholders.
- Create a new intranet graphic design and create page templates in a SharePoint Communication site.
- Create a migration plan for the new site, ensuring proper formatting and organization.
- Recommend proper permissions and create those that are approved.
- Create new SharePoint site using accessible templates and design.
- Migrate existing content to the new SharePoint site as applicable, per approved migration plan.
- Assist in site launch planning and integration with existing SharePoint sites.
- Provide guidance and planning for change management and user adoption.
- Provide technical training during hand-off of completed site.
- Provide knowledge transfer to State staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience managing/completing projects involving any or all of the following:
- SharePoint development, including site design, customization, and administration.
- Definition and implementation of SharePoint architecture and features utilizing best practices.
- Planning and execution of content strategy or information architecture.
- Migration of an intranet site from another system into SharePoint.
- Definition and enablement of SharePoint permissions, workflows, data retention, and governance.
- Integration of Microsoft 365 with SharePoint.
- Analysis and interpretation of user requirements and development of solutions based on those requirements.
- Graphic design.
- Creation of accessible SharePoint templates per WCAG 2.1 and Section 508.
- Guidance and planning for change management and user adoption.
- Technical training during hand-off of completed SharePoint site(s).
- Experience staffing resources in any or all of the above areas.
