Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled L2 Application Support Engineer to provide critical support for healthcare IT environments, focusing on embedded device networking, cloud infrastructure, and compliance. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, HIPAA-compliant integration of medical devices into hospital networks supporting Electronic Medical Records (EMR), with a strong emphasis on troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

L2 Responsibilities

  • Over 5 years of experience in an L2 Application Support role.
  • Maintain strict adherence to change control, incident, and problem management processes in accordance with ITIL standards.
  • Prepare, distribute, and update technical documentation related to medical devices, including networking procedures, device specifications, user guides, and runbooks.
  • Monitor and support production systems using cloud-native and third-party tools to ensure optimal system availability and compliance.
  • Write and optimize SQL/Postgres queries to diagnose issues and analyze data quality.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts, implement temporary workarounds, document findings thoroughly, and recommend proactive solutions.
RR Specific to Position we are hiring:
  • Experience with the EMR integrators such as EPIC integrator and Capsule Technologies is preferred.
  • Experience on working with Hospitals IT departments .
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide guidance Hospital IT networks and provide guidance is preferred.
  • Networking Support for Embedded Device Integration into hospital environments for Electronic Medical Record (EMR) interoperability and support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and troubleshoot medical devices on secure hospital networks.
  • Email and verbal communication with both technical personnel and clinical/medical staff.
  • Distribute and revise documentation for networking procedures, device specifications, and user guides.
  • Perform live troubleshooting of network connectivity issues related to:
  • Windows OS and driver configuration
  • IP Configuration (IPCONFIG), DNS, DHCP
  • TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs
  • Network segmentation and firewall rules
  • Switch/router interface settings and port configurations
  • Experience working with EMR systems, particularly EPIC and HL7 interface standards.
  • Conduct network readiness assessments and support HIPAA-compliant deployment of devices.
  • Maintain change control and documentation practices in line with ITIL standards.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
Networking Certifications:
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher (CCNP/CCIE).
  • Juniper, Aruba, or other vendor-specific certifications (e.g., JNCIA/JNCIS, Aruba Certified Switching Associate).
Infrastructure & Automation:
  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and logging platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, ELK Stack).
Cloud & Virtualization:
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Networks, load balancers, VPNs).
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and container networking (Docker/Kubernetes).
Security & Compliance:
  • Understanding of network security principles, HIPAA requirements, encryption (TLS), and VPN tunneling.
  • Familiarity with endpoint protection, NAC, and zero-trust architecture.
