Client is seeking a Network Architect (NA) that has routing, switching from a network infrastructure perspective. Must be able to manage multiple engineers and do own design component and lead technical team through issues. Must be able to deploy network hardware. CCNP Certification would be nice or someone with that skill set.The NA will educate and influence key stakeholders throughout the project life cycle and gather technical requirements. The NA will architect the technical Network solution and provide direction and guidance to project managers and technical team to ensure that requirements are met in an architecturally sound manner, meeting fundamental technical requirements such as scalability, security, flexibility, re-usability and supportability. The NA should be able to capitalize on the potential cost savings while improving efficiency. The NA will need to understand Enterprise Architecture methodologies and techniques. Primary Responsibilities:Work to understand the project business requirements; translate, document detailed infrastructure requirements to deliver IT Network solutionsLead technical teams to understand the project business requirements; translate, document all detailed technical requirements (infrastructure, network, application) for medium to large sized projectsProvide direction to infrastructure/application analysts to document analysis, design and solution requirements for projects impacting infrastructure Ensure that detailed network requirements are in alignment with standards and IT processesReview the quality of detailed network requirements; identify gaps and drive closure to requirements gaps; work with technical teams to ensure quality reviews of technical requirements are performed accordinglyEnsure technical requirements are reviewed by all applicable stakeholders and are signed off/approved accordinglyAccess and communicate the impacts, tradeoffs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of IT network solutionsDocument through architectural models or views the current and future state of the organization and how they will be met in an efficient, sustainable, adaptable and cost effective manner.Work independently alongside multiple teams in an advisory capacity.Awareness of application landscape and hardware/application dependencies to design and build IT network solution.Drive the integrated review of infrastructure, network, application, etc. detailed technical requirements; identify solution options, evaluate pros and cons of options and drive consensus on final recommendation of network project solutions.; work with accountable project team members to update technical requirements and close gaps accordingly.Takes ownership of open issues assigned to them; takes initiative to drive assigned issues to resolution with the appropriate sense of urgency. Work independently alongside multiple teams in an advisory capacity.IT Architect Deliverables to Project Team: (The finer details will be decided in consultation with the project execution team and )Network Resource Role ListNetwork Implementation TimelineSolution (Deliverables of the project)Network efforts Work Breakdown Structure ( WBS )Risks & Issues – Risk registerArchitectural drawings – current & future state, technical papersRequirements from OEM / 3rd Party VendorsBOM & Capacity planning inputsIdentify security requirements and communicate with project teamSupport and guidance for project execution where requiredRequired Skills & Experience:5+ years experience as a Network architect.10+ years of experience in information technology and network fieldExpertise in Network architecture design.Extensive knowledge in Network technologies – LAN /WAN /Voice Knowledge in current trends and products in Switching/Routing/Voice/VOIP/ IP Telephony.Conceptual knowledge in Datacenter technologies – Wintel/Unix/Storage/Back up/ Virtualization/Consolidation.Conceptual knowledge in domain architecture/Messaging/Collaboration servicesExperience with tools and methodologies to design and architect Network solutionCustomer focused orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and team building skillsExcellent collaboration, problem solving, critical thinking and negotiation skillsResults focused & self driven; ability to produce documentation and provide training as neededCertifications preferred: CCNA / CCIE / CCDP
