Job Description
The client seeks a Project Manager to lead the implementation of the federally mandated Advancing Interoperability and Improving Prior Authorization Processes Final Rule.
 
This role reports to the Director of Business & Systems Integration and is responsible for:

  • Managing vendors, project teams, and key deliverables.
  • Driving implementation of interoperability requirements.
  • Meeting the client's compliance milestones in 2026 and 2027.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for the interoperability project.
  • Oversee and manage the project management vendor; ensure deliverables meet objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate acquisition of resources and coordination across the company, business partners, and external entities.
  • Lead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (30+ members).
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate project team meetings, workgroups, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Produce reports, presentations, and communications to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks/issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal funding requirements, including invoice and HR reporting.
  • Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, resolve conflicts, and build consensus.
  • Adhere to the client's project management and procurement standards.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)
  • 5+ years managing complex healthcare technology projects.
  • Experience managing vendor contracts within healthcare IT.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems (Medicaid, Medicare, commercial payers).
  • Understanding of SDLC and APIs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects >$1M and with 20+ staff.
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid).
Preferred Skills
  • Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent).
  • Expertise in business requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Familiarity with the Massachusetts healthcare landscape.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong conflict resolution and team facilitation abilities.
