Job Description

  • The client has an immediate need for an experienced Senior Data Architect with expertise in data modeling, data governance and operational experience in clinical healthcare systems.
  • The Senior Data Architect – is a hybrid technical and business advisor.
  • This individual embodies project/program management skills, technical vision, and business insight.
  • This position will partner heavily with internal and external teams to provide data and solutions for a precision genomics research collaboration between/among corporate and university researchers.
  • A successful candidate will be experienced in analytical data with a strong focus on data modeling.
  • This project aligns with the client's strategic vision to improve health care and become a destination for healthcare in the state of Indiana.
Responsibilities:
  • Produces the detail surrounding accepted EA frameworks and logical system designs.
  • Utilizes guiding principles & architectural policies to produce solution designs that anchor to IT portfolio standards and ensure long-term operational and administrative efficiencies.
  • Acts as a coach/mentor to engineers, developers and architects throughout the IS organization.
  • Ensures delivery teams are equipped with the leadership and guidance necessary to successfully deliver their solutions and keeps the enterprise architecture team informed regarding alignment with enterprise standards and guidelines.
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates 5-7 years of development experience plus a minimum of 3 - 5 additional years of specific architecture experience.
  • Certifications are preferred to help demonstrate depth and breadth of expertise.
  • Requires extensive experience in architecture design and optimization techniques.
  • Requires experience leading virtual teams, facilitating constructive debate and driving outcomes within time and budget constraints.
Tech Stack of this Organization:
  • Azure, Python, Terraform, and Databricks.
  • JSON, jinja templates, and Lakehouse Data Architecture.
  • cloud database development or cloud ELT with an understanding of Kimball methodology
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in data architecture, with significant experience in a leadership role directing large-scale data strategy
  • Experience in implementing and deploying big data applications
  • Experience with Apache Spark, Cloud Composer/Apache Airflow, Dataflow/Apache Beam, Big Query
  • Must have hands-on expertise in Python and/or Java/Scala; SQL proficiency preferred as well
  • Experience with Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data
  • Experience with structured Enterprise Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps
  • Knowledge of common healthcare data exchange formats (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CCDA), Big Data/ML/AI-related technology services for healthcare        
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data architecture principles, practices, and technologies, with an emphasis on current and emerging trends                                         
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data solutions that have significantly impacted business performance                                         
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and direct teams towards achieving organizational goals                                               
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of influencing high-stakes decisions                                               
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with senior management, technical teams, and external partners                                              
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred                                              
  • Fundamental understanding of the Information Management principles, IT processes, SDLC, architecture and technologies adopted by an organization.                                              
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with Azure DevOps is a plus
