Role Summary:
This role requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems within an industrial controls environment. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable leader within all aspects of the IT environment, including operating systems, networking, and secure design. This role will serve as the technical lead for system administration activities, driving the long-term IT strategies within product lines and ensuring the secure and reliable operation of the client's bioprocess systems
Responsibilities:
IT Systems Development & Maintenance:
- Oversee the design of IT systems, ensuring they meet customer needs from a system administration, networking, and security perspective.
- Work with manufacturing teams to standardize deployment processes and explore automation opportunities.
- Maintain IT/OT tools to improve product maintainability and security.
- Develop an enhanced working knowledge of IT/OT principles and elements.
- Successfully assist with onsite implementations of product solutions.
- Support field engineers troubleshooting IT-related issues, including system administration and networking issues.
- Collaborate with our internal cybersecurity team to implement robust security measures aligned with industry standards.
- Provide direction on IT requirements and processes to Engineering teams.
- Promote best practices and design patterns.
- Develop project and product documentation related to system design and deployment.
- Prepare project technical reports, project progress reports, and conduct technical presentations.
- Ensure product security risks are promptly identified, logged, and evaluated.
- Engage with a variety of teams, from product development to manufacturing, to drive successful project outcomes.
- Work across multiple multinational cross-functional project teams, focusing on systems IT.
- Provide quotation support when custom activities pertain to IT changes from the standard product.
Education:
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 7-10 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience with directory services (Active Directory, LDAP, Group Policies).
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Hands-on experience configuring network and security appliances (e.g., network switches, firewalls).
- Proficiency in network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with system design and architecture
- Familiarity with industry cybersecurity standards (IEC 62433, ISA 99, NIST 800-53, etc.) implementation and governance.
- Familiarity with anti-malware product deployment, application whitelisting strategies, and the use of vulnerability scanners.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools.
- Experience working in an industrial manufacturing OT environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple projects and priorities.
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience working on global project teams as an individual contributor.
- Knowledge of application risk identification and evaluation techniques.
- Demonstrated understanding of software systems and development concepts, including access, authorization, configuration, design, test, and maintenance.
