Job Description
- The client is in need of a SQL-heavy developer (T-SQL) who is experienced with Classic ASP (VBScript), and has experience maintaining and supporting legacy systems in production environments.
- Develop SQL queries in SQL Server using T SQL, update reports, some Classic ASP (VBScript) work along with SSIS.
- Tools include VS Studio, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Notepad++
- Strong SQL Server / T-SQL experience
- Writing and optimizing complex queries
- Performance tuning (indexes, execution plans, refactoring)
- Stored procedures, views, and troubleshooting production issues
- Classic ASP (VBScript) experience
- Maintaining and enhancing existing code
- ADO, session management, request/response lifecycle
- Comfortable debugging older, minimally documented applications
- Proven experience supporting legacy production systems, including vendor-provided applications
- Experience supporting or coordinating with third-party/vendor applications
- Basic IIS and Windows hosting knowledge (app pools, permissions, deployments)
- Familiarity with modernization patterns (not required to implement, but helpful context)
- Comfortable working in legacy environments where stability is critical
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Able to work independently with limited documentation
- Focused on safe, incremental improvements and support
