This exempt position supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to telecommunications.  Recommends, schedules, and performs repairs for all telecommunications equipment (Primarily Cisco).  Provides end users support for all telecommunications related issues, configuration, and ancillary LAN-based applications.  Installs and configures Cisco Call Manager Servers and Software, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unity VM) and Cisco Routers and Switches.  Reviews, and analyzes network applications including testing, debugging and installing for remote communications and connectivity.
Essential Duties 1. Test, trouble shoot, design and repair Cisco VoIP telecommunication equipment issues in and out of the office. 

2. Test, trouble shoot, WAN/LAN connectivity on Cisco Routers and Switches and telecommunication issues. 

3. Test, review, and fix changes in hardware configurations. 

4. Provide day to day additions, moves, and changes for users. 

5. Support telephony system from end to end including managing voice circuits and CPE.

 6. Responsible for maintaining phones and phone system.

7. Provide technical support to team members.

8. Fix reports of problems; close tickets; provide feedback.

9. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance network infrastructure and voice design. 

10. Collaborate across the company and interact with senior management to define, design, and build new features.

11. Analyze and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefits of IT systems investments.  

12. Generate practical and creative options and solutions to problems while maximizing existing resources.

13. Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

Reporting Relationship The Network/VOIP Engineer II reports directly to the Manager of Infrastructure/Security.

Desired Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Electronics, Telecommunications or related degree and/or equivalent education, work experience or certification preferred.

Desired Major Bachelor’s degree in Computer Electronics, Telecommunications or related degree and/or equivalent education, work experience or certification preferred.
Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience :  Minimum of three years networking and telecommunications experience required.  Minimum three years supporting Cisco Unified Communications deployments. Must have experience dealing with telecommunication vendors. 

Expert knowledge of network and telecom architecture and design with special focus on building services for high performance, high availability, security and scalability.   Expert knowledge of hardware components supporting LAN, WAN, Wireless and Voice/Video networks and device operating systems (e.g. Cisco IOS) required.  Expert knowledge of VOIP and telecommunications systems and 3rd party services.  Strong knowledge of network access controls and authentication mechanisms.  Strong knowledge in LAN, WAN, Wireless, Voice and Video routing and switching protocols.  Knowledge of network security components such as firewalls, threat prevention and content filtering systems.  Knowledge of Windows server and desktop networking technology. Strong knowledge of H.323 and SIP internetworking and VoIP protocols and codecs.

Skills :  Incumbent must possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.  Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; with the ability to work both individually and collaboratively with team members, attorneys, professional staff, and vendors.  Position requires strong client services skills. 

Education :  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Electronics, Telecommunications or related degree and/or equivalent education, work experience or certification preferred.  

Physical Demands and Working Conditions Physical Demands

Must be able to move around the office up to 70% of the time.  Remains stationary at least 30% of the time.  When doing occasional office build outs or system upgrades, might be required to move around up to 100% of the time. This position often operates, and frequently inspects and positions, computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.).  Occasionally positions self to maintain/troubleshoot equipment up to 25% of the time.  Frequently moves computer equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. Occasionally moves computer/server equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.  This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the firm attorneys and staff.  

Working conditions

Office environment.  Semi-Frequent travel required.
