Portland is a booming city with a large and growing IT industry, as well as a great tech community with endless opportunities for professional growth and development. At EdgeLink, we’re grateful to be part of this growing industry and we set aside a day each year to show our appreciation to our clients and candidates by hosting our Annual Client Appreciation Golf Tournament. This year, our 9th annual tournament was held on Friday, May 17th at Langdon Farms Golf Course in Aurora, Oregon, just outside of Portland.
Hitting The Links In Portland: Drives, Putts And Prizes At Edgelink’s 9th Annual Client Appreciation Golf Tournament

Although the day started off a bit chilly, the weather improved and warmed as the morning went on. Once everyone arrived, there was a quick welcome from the Langdon Farms team. Langdon Farms is a beautiful course and has been recognized by the Portland Business Journal as the best public golf course in the Portland area. The course was also previously listed as a Top 10 “Best Courses You Can Play” in Oregon by Golfweek. At 7:45 a.m., the shotgun style tournament tee’d off with groups of golfers working their way around the course throughout the morning.
After the round of golf, everyone regrouped in the Red Shed, a large venue overlooking the 18th green, for a Mexican-style lunch, drinks and lots of great networking. In total about 70 current and past clients and candidates attended the event. Guests were selected and invited by their EdgeLink representative, and attendees ranged from software engineers to CEOs from top tech companies in Oregon. Networking was followed by a raffle with prizes such as Amazon gift cards, a putter practice set, Portland Blazers tickets, and more.
Addressing the group at the end of the event, I thanked everyone for taking time out of their busy day to attend. We are privileged to represent and work with some of the hottest tech companies in Oregon, and I reminded the group that we have always viewed EdgeLink as an extension of their business. When they grow and evolve, we get to be a part of their success. We’ve never been a “one-size-fits-all” IT staffing firm. Our personalized, consultative approach has allowed us to reach the area’s best tech talent and ensures we always match them with the right company.
This year’s Client Appreciation Golf Tournament was one of the best we’ve ever had, and we are grateful for the many wonderful partnerships we have with our clients and candidates. We look forward to another year of placing exceptional tech talent in the right environments and supporting the growth of areas businesses and the tech community.
