“It’s a really important part of who we are to try and give back a little bit to the community,” Queen Consulting Group President Carl Foster said. “We select charities that are important to our clients, or to our consultants in the field, or to the team in the office.”

Caring Across the World

On the global level, Queen donates to Doctors Without Borders every year, especially around the holidays.  An important organization during normal times, Doctors Without Borders has been even more valuable this year as they struggle to help contain the coronavirus in some of the poorest regions of the world.

In lieu of buying holiday gifts, we make donations to Doctors Without Borders in the names of our clients.  “We receive an outpouring of thankful responses from our clients,” Mr. Foster said.

Caring at Home

On the local level, Queen has worked with the Pine Street Inn, a Boston homeless shelter, for a number of years. Each night, hundreds of people sleep there, and more than a thousand meals are served every day.  Not only do we support them financially, but once a year the entire staff makes a trip to the shelter to spend the day helping prepare meals.

“It’s an opportunity for everyone to see what others in our world are dealing with,” Mr. Foster said. “It’s really eye-opening for some, and truly meaningful for all of us.”

Caring During Crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly changed our professional and personal lives in a number of ways, and presented new challenges for those on the front line of treatment and care.  When Queen learned that one of our healthcare clients was in need of webcams to allow COVID patients to communicate with their families, Carl Foster wasted no time.  “I immediately asked my Operations team to track down four of the cameras the hospital needed, and had them delivered onsite the next week.”

Our Clients Care

We are also happy to take part when others are raising money. For example, a financial services client of Queen, hosts a golf tournament every year to raise money for the United Way, a cause we are pleased to support.

Also, each year another important client sponsors a Kidney Walk for the National Kidney Foundation.  Not only does Queen make a financial contribution, but some of our employees walk, too.

Our Families Care

Sometimes, Queen consultants or their family members raise money for a worthy cause, and Queen is happy to help.  For example, a daughter of one of our staff goes to Villanova University. Each year, the school hosts the NOVAdance, a year-long fundraiser for the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation where money is raised to fight childhood cancer. When we learned about this, we decided to give to the cause, too.

As much as we love to help people find jobs in IT, Queen understands the importance of caring for others, and good corporate citizenship fuels all that we do.
